Announcing Festival 2012

Skylark Opera will produce its fifth annual Summer Opera Festival, June 8-17, 2012, at the 310-seat E.M. Pearson Theatre at Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota. The festival will present four performances each of two contrasting American masterpieces, Leonard Bernstein's exuberant musical Wonderful Town and Victor Herbert's exquisite operetta Mademoiselle Modiste. Both productions will be fully staged, cast with professional singers and actors from the Twin Cities and the Upper Midwest, and accompanied by professional orchestra. Like all Skylark performances, the shows will be sung in English, without electronic amplification, in an intimate venue that draws the audience into the action. Skylark will also offer free pre-performance talks and post-performance talkbacks.

To order Festival tickets, contact TicketWorks or call 612-343-3390.

Skylark thanks its many patrons who have generously made supporting donations and also the organizations who have provided grants, including the Minnesota State Arts Board, the Target Foundation and the Twin Cities Opera Guild.

This activity funded, in part, by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008.
