This charming Nativity opera tells the story of the shepherds' journey to see the newborn Christ Child and their two kids who secretly follow them. Composed by Frank Bridge in 1929, the one-hour opera provides a unique look at the music of one of Britain’s most innovative early twentieth-century composers.

The Christmas Rose will be presented in concert with soloists backed by a chorus and full orchestra. Skylark’s Artistic Director James Barnett conducts local vocalists Bergen Baker, Siena Forest, Brian Frutiger, Alex Ritchie and Jeremiah Sanders, who have appeared in the country’s most prominent opera houses.
